If you purchase something on CREDIT with a debit card, how much time are u given to pay it off?

i want to buy something with my debit card, but i have insufficient funds in my bank account to pay for it. Ive heard that you can put things on credit with your debit card. If so, how much time will they give me in order to put money into my account if i purchase it on credit?
